In addition to her conservation work, Katya Birukova has been actively involved in outreach programs, notably providing assistance for educational events at the High Museum of Art. Through the museum's Lifelong Learning initiative, Katya has led public tours, during which she shared insights into the recently completed treatments of artworks from the High's collection. Furthermore, Katya had the privilege of engaging with college students, and discussing the field of art conservation with them. This interaction not only served to educate but also to inspire future generations to appreciate and possibly pursue a career in art conservation.
